Preparatory Level -- This workbook is written with large notes for the young student or beginner. This first book has many simple worksheets to introduce the Grand Staff, Musical Alphabet, Notes, Rests, Intervals, Time Signatures, Major and minor Five-Finger Patterns, and Key Signatures.
Level One
Level 1 -- Reviews and expands the basic notation. More Major Scales, Key Signatures, Dynamics, Terms, Cadences, Meter, Triads and Triad Inversions are added. Worksheets and Composition Analysis help Students to study these newly-learned elements.
Level Two
Level 2 -- Further builds a firm foundation for the Student's music education. Composers, Cadences, New Terms, Diminished and Augmented Five Finger Patterns and Triads are presented, along with previously learned concepts. These are reinforced with Exercises and Review Tests.
Level Three
Level 3 -- Presents three forms of the Minor Scale, Perfect and Major Intervals, Primary and Secondary Triads, and Inversions of Triads. Level 3 also includes Dynamics, Terms, Rhythm and Meter as well as Review Tests and more Composition Analysis.
Level Four
Level 4 -- Promotes the intermediate Student to a higher level of music appreciation. Tetrachord Patterns, the Circle of Fifths, Common Tones, Cadences with Inversions, Names of Scale Degrees, Dominant Seventh Chords, Figured Bass Symbols, and Modes are introduced.
Level Five
Level 5 -- This workbook is an in-depth study of concepts previously presented. New components include Relative Minors, the minor Circle of Fifths, Inversions, Modulation, Transposition, and Historical Considerations. Also presented are Complex Meter, the Chromatic Scale, and Ornamentation.
Level Six
Level 6 -- Includes further study of Dominant Seventh Chords and the three forms of the minor scale. Key Relationships, Secondary Dominants, and the Sonata-Allegro Form are introduced. Concepts and components previously presented are also used on worksheets and Composition Analysis.
Teacher's Key
Teacher's Key -- Provides the answers for Levels 2-6 (Preparatory and Level 1 are simple enough that answers are not needed.) This useful book is designed to make correcting the Student Workbooks quicker and easier for the Teacher.
